Tether Leads €30M Funding Round in Spanish Crypto Exchange Bit2Me
Tether has taken a strategic minority stake in Bit2Me, Spain's first CNMV-licensed crypto exchange under MiCA regulations. The €30 million investment will fuel European and Latin American expansion for the platform, which has processed over €3 billion in transactions since 2014.
Bit2Me's newly acquired EU-wide operating license positions it as a regulatory pioneer in Spanish-speaking markets. The exchange currently serves 1.2 million users and 7,000 corporate clients, with plans to scale educational initiatives and compliance infrastructure.
"This partnership accelerates our shared vision for compliant digital asset adoption," said Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino. The stablecoin issuer's backing signals growing institutional interest in regulated crypto gateways as MiCA implementation progresses.
